Why I Created this Giving Campaign

Life isn't the same without our best animal friends.  We want them to have the longest, healthiest lives possible.  This year, I lost my beloved SkipJack way too soon to cancer.  My closest friends and family have grieved the loss of their pets and watched them suffer from illness.  I created this campaign to fund important research making a difference in the lives of animals.  It is dedicated to the indomitable spirit of Ernie and Rudy and to the memory of Brandy, Chewy, and SkipJack.

Why I Support Morris Animal Foundation

As the global leader in animal health, Morris Animal Foundation ("MAF") supports science that makes the world a brighter place for animals and those who love them (like me).  Since 1950, MAF has invested over $44 million in more than 970 canine health studies.  Its groundbreaking "Golden Retriever Lifetime Study," which is now in its sixth year, will help identify the nutritional, environmental, lifestyle and genetic risk factors for cancer and other diseases in dogs.  The study is gathering data on and samples from more than 3,000 enrolled golden retrievers throughout their lives.  At a cost of $32 million, it is one of the largest studies ever undertaken in veterinary medicine and will help define canine health studies for decades to come.  To learn more about this impactful study, go here:  For a deeper dive, and to learn about the study's translational opportunities to enhance human health, go here:

I hope you will consider joining me in making a donation to the Morris Animal Foundation.  It is one way we can express our gratitude to our best friends, who give us so much.

Loyal, loving, handsome SkipJack -- bravely exploring a tidal pool
