I'm a golden retriever who has many jobs in life. I'm a professional animal actor & model, as well as a therapy dog who works with cancer patients, among many other things.
My dad was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer in 2006. Fortunately, with the help of wonderful doctors and great resources, he is now cancer-free. My family has lost 3 golden to the disease -- the most recent being my very best friend in the whole world, Daisy. She was the best friend I ever could have had. I miss my side-kick more than anything.
- 1 in 2 dogs will develop cancer.
- 1 in 4 dogs die of cancer.
- And for us golden retrievers, 60% will develop cancer.
Those statistics scare me.
I want to help people and animals who are faced with this frightening challenge. Help me help those who need it. Our family didn't think we'd be affected, and we were - repeatedly. You never know who might need your help. Every single day is a gift. None of us are promised tomorrow.
Let's help find a cure.
I walk because I can help end canine cancer by bringing awareness to the disease and raising money for research to find a cure.
Morris Animal Foundation supports science that makes the world a brighter place for animals and those who love them (like me). As the global leader in animal health, Morris Animal Foundation provides funding that helps more species in more places than that of any other organization in the world.
